I moved all the illustrations/stuff done before 2008 to my archive gallery on Flickr. In this way you can leave comments on old images while on my website you find only the recently done images plus the art for Precious Things art-book. And I deleted my Twitter account, one tweet in a month or more – like I’m used to do – is practically nonsense if you have an account there ^____^

The Umbrella Waltz and more drawings… Tuesday, Nov 3 2009
Artwork Art, Concept Art, Music, Sketches, WIP 3:45 pm
I’m currently working on several art projects, as you know ^_^ This is also the main reason I can’t update often my pages and I’m rarely online….as a matter of fact I think to delete some accounts of mine as the Twitter for example. Too many things to do, so few time to follow and keep updated all my pages/galleries/silly things…better waste my time drawing than chatting or networking ^__^
Talking about art, a couple of the current projects are based on personal storyboards/concepts – looking for an editor – others are collaborations with talented artists.
Below two sketches for a Paper Doll I did. They’re based on ‘The Umbrella Waltz‘ song by Emily Jayne and one of them will be included in the booklet of her upcoming album. I’m still working on them and at the moment I don’t know which one will be selected for the album. The first sketch is more cartoon-ish and for the girl dress I took inspiration from early XIX century bath dresses when the second is more romantic and melancholic and the doll wears the typical ball dress.

And a fanart based on the Erth Chronicles by Richard Johnson. Rich asked me for a drawing based on his novel, months ago… and I could finally work on it few days ago! This is just a preview of the final piece: I should add a lot of details yet!

And finally, a small fairy drawing that will be soon for sale on my shop!

Artwork and Books FolkTales Project, New art, Projects 6:22 pm
The idea of painting some illustrations based on popular old folktales came to me when I worked on the images for the ‘Art of Faery’ art-book, some years ago. Firstly, I thought of making illustrations from fairytales most than folktales that usually are bawdy and often violent – not children’s stories actually. In the past I’ve tried to involve other artists in this project. But for several reasons it seems that the idea of a collaborative project isn’t the good one – I mean, people usually stop write back to me as soon as I mention the project ^_________^. Then, I was lucky enough to recently work on similar projects and I put off my plans for awhile.
In these days, I’ve started thinking again of it and finally I’ve decided to start working seriously on my ‘Folk Tales’ project. The first illustrations will be based on some of my favourite tales from the wonderful collection compiled by Italo Calvino. And then…maybe some new original tales could be illustrated! I should say it will be a project I can devote myself to only in my spare time but I think to seriously try to find a publisher for it, finally. That said, if someone is interested in it, don’t hesitate to drop me a line ^_- I need your support!
