Miss Jellyfishes and the 1920’s! Sunday, May 31 2009

miss jellyfishes

The WIP of an illustration done as birthday present. It’s supposed to have been completed 3 months ago! Well, luckily people always forgive me for being such a bad girl ^_-
And, as soon as a couple of collaborative works will be completed – very soon, I hope – I start with a new project of mine! Do you remember the following illustration?

I’ve always have a weakness for 1920/1930 age, and recently I’ve restart doing some stuff inspired by those years. Actually I like very much fantasy genre – you know that! – and many of my illustrations are set in Victorian Age, anyway I think from time to time we all need trying something new!
That will be a long term project so, don’t expect to see finished illustrations shortly….but I’ll keep you informed about it!

By the way, the booklet for Fairy Tale music album by Ken Young is completed! I made a short comic plus the ‘Little Heart’ illustration, they are both included in the booklet together with more stunning art done by popular – and more talented than me ^_^ – artists!
A preview of the first panel of the comic with lettering (made by Ken).

That’s all…for the moment ^_^

At the End of the World – completed! Tuesday, May 26 2009

I’m working on several illustrations in these days so stay tuned for new art soon!

Other news, finally I saw ‘Ponyo on the Cliff by the Sea’ and I loved it! The movie was in theaters some weeks ago but I missed it. Luckily, the past week I had the chance to see the film at ‘Cinema dei Piccoli’, a very nice place situated in Villa Borghese Gardens. It’s a very small cinema – literally a place for children as its Italian name does suggest – a small wooden house in the Gardens. The perfect place for seeing that movie!

And, tomorrow is my birthday, yeah! I’ve decided to spend the day doing things I usually can’t do…I’m on vacation so no office – yes, yes – but also no drawing! I mean, when I’m not at office I usually spend the time drawing, I think I need to take a pause from full-time job, part-time job and internet!
I think I’ll finally sleep all the day… ^_^

About personal commissions…Sincerely I have no idea when I can start again taking private/not commercial commissions. Any time I think finally I could have some extra time for them, something happens and I have to devote myself to different projects. But patience is a virtue….
