A small preview of a series of three commissioned illustrations done in the past days:

And the final sketch for a Little Mermaid and the Prince commission. I did it nth times but I really want it comes out perfect, at least this is my intention! ‘Little Mermaid’ is my favourite fairy-tale from the classic ones. And of course I don’t refer to the meaningless Disney cartoon! You can’t imagine how I hate that movie ^_^
Btw, I think I’m too much perfectionist to work on commissioned pieces! It takes me ages to complete even the simplest sketch!

Happy New Year all!

So, let’s starting the 2010 with some news concerning… TADA! Commissions!!!!

I will start taking personal commissions again starting end of February! I will give you more info about that, plus rates and general information on next blog entries. Currently, I’m working both on some private and commercial commissioned stuff. Here, some details of the preliminary sketches:

Little Mermaid! No doubt about that ^_^

Skulls, Victorian girls and faeries….my fave themes!

I’m also trying to improve my technique and in these days I’m in a sort of ‘transitional’ phase that hopefully will end in something new and acceptable, I hope so!

And I also completed the Paper Dolls for EmilyJayne.com! I’ve just posted them on my site! Enjoy!

The making of ‘Alice in Wonderland’ illustration. I was requested to make this image, you can see the final painting there.

And my ‘neverending’ fanart based on the Time Quake Trilogy by Linda Buckley-Archer. I think it’s more than a month that I work on this illustration….

What I’m doing in these days ^_^

And, I also updated the shop with new prints and merchandise!

I’m currently working on several art projects, as you know ^_^ This is also the main reason I can’t update often my pages and I’m rarely online….as a matter of fact I think to delete some accounts of mine as the Twitter for example. Too many things to do, so few time to follow and keep updated all my pages/galleries/silly things…better waste my time drawing than chatting or networking ^__^
Talking about art, a couple of the current projects are based on personal storyboards/concepts – looking for an editor – others are collaborations with talented artists.
Below two sketches for a Paper Doll I did. They’re based on ‘The Umbrella Waltz‘ song by Emily Jayne and one of them will be included in the booklet of her upcoming album. I’m still working on them and at the moment I don’t know which one will be selected for the album. The first sketch is more cartoon-ish and for the girl dress I took inspiration from early XIX century bath dresses when the second is more romantic and melancholic and the doll wears the typical ball dress.

And a fanart based on the Erth Chronicles by Richard Johnson. Rich asked me for a drawing based on his novel, months ago… and I could finally work on it few days ago! This is just a preview of the final piece: I should add a lot of details yet!

And finally, a small fairy drawing that will be soon for sale on my shop!
